Description:
Projects in Circular Economy, specifically in the area of waste, (Resolution EMC/16353/2020) belonging to the ACCIÓ call of the Generalitat de Catalunya.
The project consists of researching and developing the methodology for the application of biomaterials from biomass in the reuse and recycling of asphalt pavements.
The general objective set for BIOREPAV is to develop a multi-recyclable pavement, with a high recycling rate, manufactured at reduced temperature and using biobinders. To this end, work is to be carried out along the following specific areas:
• Study the effect of multi-recycling on the performance properties of pavements incorporating high RAP rates.
• Studying the technical and economic feasibility of using a plant-based additive as a rejuvenator for oxidised bitumen in multiple stages of recycling.
• Demonstrate that bio binders can be used in multi-recycling pavements with the same level of performance as when using conventional bitumens.

This funding line is granted by the agency for business competitiveness ACCIÓ of the Generalitat de Catalunya with a budget of 306,095.53€ and a grant of 78,023.88€.
