Project Description

Total budget: 3.335.733 €
Description:
The objective of the BAHORIS project has been to research and develop a new concrete barrier manufactured in situ to be installed in middle or border areas, with high safety features, low manufacturing and installation costs and environmentally friendly in its manufacture and materials used, which also achieves the maximum results defined as requirements in the UNE EN 1317 standard for the containment of vehicles and the evaluation of the design of the barrier developed according to the UNE 135900 standard for the protection of motorcyclists, being able to be certified by the CE marking and allowing its commercialisation at a European level.

Thanks to the very satisfactory results of this project’s research, Eiffage Infraestructuras was certified according to the UNE EN 1317 standard for the design range of its Vehicle Containment Systems “SAFETYBAR Barriers” (No. 1035-CPR-ES064447) for in situ concrete barriers for use on roads and in areas where vehicles circulate. This gave the organisation a differentiating factor with respect to the competition, as it was the first company at national level to obtain the CE marking for this type of product.

Project funded by the Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology.
